Sold Out of First Run! 8/20/2006

We have great news, we have nearly sold out of our first run of Done The Impossible! We sold through the first printing about four times faster than we had expected or hoped. So thank you to all that ordered! We are having a second printing replicated as we speak, and it should be ready in just over a week.

This means that all orders received after today (Sunday) will be delayed about 7-10 days while we wait for inventory to arrive. If you order(ed) before Monday, and you haven't recieved your DVD, you should be getting it via USPS within a week (for U.S. orders; international orders can take considerably longer to arrive).

Thanks again for helping make all the time and effort worth it. We continue to get nearly overwhelmingly positive reaction to the documentary and DVD:

DVD-ROM Patch Available 8/13/2006

About 25% of Windows PC users have reported problems playing back the extended interviews in our IVEX DVD-ROM feature (Mac users are not affected). We have found and fixed the problem, and have released a beta patch. Click here to get it. However if you want to wait a few more days we'll have a more extensive patch that also corrects some typos and a few other minor bugs.

Shipping Status 8/5/2006

If you haven't received your copy yet, here is a shipping update: If you pre-ordered (all orders before July 12) you were in our first shipment, which shipped by the end of July. You either should have recieved your disc or you should be getting it soon (some international orders may take up to 3 weeks.) If you ordered between July 13 and July 31 you are in our second batch which shipped on Friday Aug 4 (domestic U.S. addresses should get their copies within a 7-10 days of that date, international take longer.) Our third batch, which includes all orders after July 31 will be in our third batch, going out early this week. As we get our shipping process down pat, we should be able to turn these discs around a little more quickly.
DVDs Arriving 7/30/2006

The first few DVDs have started arriving in Browncoats' hands and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Please let us know what you think about the documentary and DVD features.

Done the Impossible Shipping & Reviews 7/26/2006

If you preordered a Done the Impossible DVD (or two), you should be getting your copy next week. We had hoped copies would be arriving this week, but due to a mix up at the order fulfillment house, the ship date was pushed back a few days. But all is good, as they are shipping now. We had originally announced that the copies would be shipping in the order in which they were received, but the shipping company is basically going to ship all the discs at the same time, os that is now a moot point.

We are shipping via first class USPS, so we anticipate that nearly all DVDs will being delivered to the U.S. should arrive no later than next week, international orders will take longer. If you did not receive a change of address email, it doesn't necessarily mean your order got lost, more likely the address was entered wrong, your email address changed or our message got lost in a spam filter somewhere. However, if you know you ordered and you haven't received your copy by Aug 7, please let us know and we'll track it down.

Done the Impossible has been receiving nearly universally positive reviews from various Browncoats that have either seen it at a screening, watched it online or picked up a copy at Comic Con. As has the DVD and all its special features. Speaking of Comic Con, our screening was a huge success, the room held over 1000 people and was filled to capacity with people standing around the walls. At the end, the documentary received a standing ovation. We then proceeded to show off the DVD and its special features, which also garnered a very positive response. Here are some samples of the feedback the film has received so far:

"I want to put this on a loop and watch it forever." - Holymother

"I have to say there were points where i was teary-eyed. really good... well I am not a convention oer and I think this is a great piece of work. very emotional...dare I say better than Serenity? Kidding of course." - Prakash

"Folks, there ain't going to be a dry eye in the house over this one. As good as you were hoping it would be, kick it up a few hundred notches and you might be geting close to the point of approaching it. Cannot wait for the full official set with all the bonusey extra goodies. This is like Christmas in July, with Christmas Eve coming a little before that. You know, where you can open just ~one~ of your presents early and it turns out to be a DAMN good one." - Tink Tanker

"Okay, I couldn't wait either, and I just finished watching the download. It was moving and sweet -- I found just about everyone entirely endearing. The whole thing was pretty inspiring." - QuoterGal

"I’d heard about your DVD, and I assumed it would be neat but probably just like the BDM’s bonus features with a few interviews added in. Obviously, I’ve never actually met any of you, or I would have realized how wrong that assumption was. ... After a long day yesterday, I finally got around to looking at it online. I figured, I’d give it 10 or 15 minutes and go to bed. Huh. Nope. I finally got to bed at 1am. And that was only the preview. I’m back in it. I’m right there, again, cheering people along. That feeling is back. I’m flying again. This DVD is not just another set of interviews and clips – it is a full, new entry into the Firefly/Serenity canon. What an achievement for you all! I don’t know much about DVD production, so I don’t know how you did it, but this got me back to that oh-my-gosh feeling of seeing the first few episodes, the movie, finding fff.net, etc. At a time in my life when I need some boosting, I was hoping this documentary would get me a few feet off the ground. Instead, I’m standing between River and Mal on the bridge, hearing Mal talk about ships we love, seeing stars shoot by. I just ordered the DVD from your site, so I have all the REST of the DVD to enjoy when I get it! Thank you, thank you, thank you."

Technical alert - We have discovered an issue with the Done The Impossible DVD-ROM on some computers. When you put the DVD into your computer you will be presented with a menu asking you to 'Install' or 'Skip', it turns out the 'skip' feature is broken on most machines, so please select 'Install'. (For the record, we don't do anything fancy with the install, we just put the program and some supporting files into your 'Program Files' folder [windows] or Applications folder [Mac] . No registry changes or preferences files.)

Also, although we did make the DVD-ROM Mac compatible, we were unable to make it compatible with Intel based Macs due to the fact that Macromedia/Adobe Director hasn't been updated. We will release an updater if it becomes available.
