Orson Scott Card Interview |
08/16/2005 |
|
Spent an amazing hour interviewing Orson Scott Card, who is a huge Firefly fan. We arrived at his hotel before he did and setup. He went straight from the airport to the hotel, and fifteen minutes later he was ready for the interview. Talk about dedication! He was brilliant, and funny and insightful as always. I wish we could put the entire hour on in the documentary. |

Progress to Report |
07/24/2005 |
|
We have started post-production on the documentary trailer. The documentary will be called "Done the Impossible" and is being shot in HD. Part of the proceeds will be donated to one of Joss Whedon's favorite charities - Equality Now.
However, we need your help in documenting the Firefly fan experience! We will start conducting interviews with fans, cast & crew for the next several months.
- Were you a fan from the beginning? Did you try to save Firefly?
- Did you actively support the cast and crew during the "dark months"? (we're talking to you Fillionaires!)
- Has Firefly changed your life in some dramatic way?
- Have you actively participated in guerilla marketing?
- Were you involved creating the show or movie (cast, crew, production, extra)?
- Are you a Fox or Universal exec?
If so, please contact us today! We have already interviewed dozens of fans at Comic-Con, as well as several members of the crew of the show. And, we already have an exclusive 20+ minute interview with Joss. We will be taking pre-orders for the documentary soon.

Comic Con 2005: An Update |
07/16/2005 |
|
Comic-Con was an amazing show. We joined the San Francisco and Southern California Browncoats, and ran a very popular table. It was rare for the table to not be at least three people deep. Thousands of dollars were raised for the Equality Now charity . There was a strong feeling of family and community among the Browncoats. Universal also brought by 5,000 CDs with samples of music from the movie. A big thank you to Universal and Joss for their support of the Browncoats table and the Browncoats themselves.
On Saturday afternoon, the Serenity panel was held in the giant Hall H auditorium. This is the biggest hall at Comic-Con and holds over 6,000 people. It was FULL! As expected, it appeared to be the best attended panel of Comic-Con. Joss and all of the cast, except Alan, were there. Because Nathan's previous panel on Slither ran a little over time, there was less than 40 minutes for our BDH. Joss introduced the cast, who walked out on stage one by one. Joss asked the audience for the first question, then realized he had forgotten Jewel! He made the usual funny, yet awkward introduction for Jewel who walked on stage with a less than happy expression. Humor, bantering and gratitude for the fans carried the panel.
The Saturday night screening was fantastic, at 9:30pm the theatre floodgates opened to a very enthusiastic crowd. Joss attended and said a few words to the audience before the movie began. Only Joss and one other person had seen the final cut the audience was about to see. It was touching to look around and see all of the friends (nay family) that we've met over the past three years. All in a room together with Joss and a bunch of Universal execs. Joss wasn't the only one with a tear in his eye. |

Serenity Movie Premiere |
05/08/2005 |
|
Jeremy and Brian are back from Vegas, it was awesome meeting all of you who were there. And, as was rumored, Joss showed up, but unexpectedly he brought Summer with him. What a pleasure it was to watch the film with the writer/director and the person who, in my opinion, shined brightest in the movie. Joss gave a nice speech before the show started and they even stayed late and signed autographs for everyone in the theater.
